PARSIPPANY, NJ — On Saturday, May 17, 2014 the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) held it’s spring business meeting and awards gala at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV. Out of ten possible awards for NALFO fraternities, Lambda Theta Phi collected six–including the Organization of the Year Award (Fraternity). “These awards symbolize our organization’s commitment to our values and footprint as the leaders of the Latino Greek movement. Lambda Theta Phi’s future is brighter than ever, thanks to the efforts of its brothers and leadership,” said National President José Grajales.
Lambda Theta Phi was also recognized as National Philanthropic Organization of the Year for its philanthropic efforts with Hero Box at the 2013 National Brotherhood Conference in New Orleans, the Nickel Drive with the American Heart Association, and collective efforts at the chapter and sector levels.
The National Executive Board also congratulates Brother José Marroquin (FB Beta Psi, Summer 2005), as he closes his term as NALFO Interim Chair. All brothers should be proud of his many years of leadership in NALFO, and his efforts to advance the Latino Greek Movement.

Founded on December 1, 1975 at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. is the first nationally recognized Greek-letter organization founded as a Latin fraternity. The membership of Lambda Theta Phi is open to all college men who support its values of scholarship, respect for all cultures, community service, and the advancement and fair treatment of Latinos in the United States.
