PARSIPPANY, NJ–Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) has been a brother and supporter of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc., an organization with over 4,500 members. As the first Latin fraternity founded in the United States, and at Kean College (now University), in the State of New Jersey, we have valued the relationship with our brother as he continues to represent the ideals of our fraternity throughout his career. As the senior ranking Latino in the US Congress, he has continued to advance issues of immigration reform and has demonstrated a commitment to upholding and enhancing Latin@ unity for the achievement of social justice for all Latin@s. We want to congratulate and recognize him as a strong leader, a soldier for social justice, and his commitment towards advancing young Latin@s throughout the years.

Lambda Theta Phi is shocked to learn that Senator Menendez faces serious allegations against him; however, as a fraternity that is committed to and supports a fair and ethical judicial process based on the assumption of innocence, we support him in his right to provide evidence in his defense so justice is served. We send our positive thoughts to our brother, Senator Menendez, and his family during this time.
