Latinos Moving Forward in America Event

CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF LATINO ACTIVISM AT KEAN UNIVERSITY

Friday, October 30, 2015, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Kean University | STEM Building

 

You are invited to celebrate a daylong event dedicated to Hispanic heritage this coming Friday, October 30th 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be art, music, food and different workshops led by Latino leaders from all around Latin America focusing on: Latino entrepreneurship; Hispanics in the United States Armed Forces; violence prevention; government certification for businesses & veterans; Latinos in New Jersey police departments; driver’s licenses for the undocumented; home ownership & fair practices; Cuba today; and Latinos in higher education.

This event will also have a panel discussion with recognized Latino leaders that have helped build a better present for the Hispanic community. They will be discussing the many goals that Latinos have achieved within past few decades, and the main needs Latinos face in today’s society. At the panel discussion will be:

  • Editor & CEO of El Especialito, Tony Ibarria
  • Mayor of Passaic, Alex D. Blanco
  • Republican Chairman, Jose Arango

  • Union County Freeholder, Angel G. Estrada
  • Former NJ Gubernatorial Candidate, Dr. Hector Castillo
