We would like to express our utmost appreciation to the federal judge who ordered that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office cease using race or ancestry as a reason to stop, detain, or hold occupants of vehicles thus ending a string of unjust practices. Though we wish the practice had never begun our faith and belief in the judicial system has been reaffirmed.
As a nation we are indebted to the citizens of Arizona and those across the country who joined together to bring awareness to the problem of racial profiling. We hope that we can continue to progress as a country and consistently eliminate practices and laws that discriminate against or subjugate any group of people. As a people if we continue to unite to fight these things we will see similar success across the nation.
