PARSIPPANY, NJ — On December 1, 1975, Lambda Theta Phi transcended college campuses by being the first Latin fraternity in the country. Lambda’s founders, as men of vision, realized there was a need to unite the Latino students, develop their leadership skills, impart upon them the value of an education, and instill in them a commitment to their community and culture.
Our founders’ vision still remains more relevant today than ever before. Lambda Theta Phi is committed to living up to the ideals of academic excellence, service, leadership, Latino unity and brotherhood while continuing to be the Leaders of the Latino Greek Community by embodying our belief that En La Union, Esta La Fuerza (In Unity, There Is Strength).
As leaders united to advance identity and equality, there is one important issue currently impacting the Latino community throughout the United States – our Immigration system.
People migrate to the United States for the promise of freedom and opportunity. This very promise leads them to leave their lives and families behind for a better future. Sadly, the current immigration system in the United States is broken. Deportations brought about by the persecution of immigrants break families apart. Immigrant workers are exploited and discrimination against immigrants runs rampant.
The call for advocacy on issues affecting the Latino Community is a cause deeply rooted in our values, purpose and founding as a national fraternity. Many issues faced by Latino/Hispanic families and their daily struggle in regard to their legal status, including our own, are a harsh reality in this country.
Lambda Theta Phi will take a three-pronged approach in our campaign, Lambdas for Immigration Reform. This campaign is grounded in our founding values and our commitment to Latino advocacy.
VotoLatino: Rep Your Letters 2014
As Leaders of the Latino Greek Movement, Lambda Theta Phi will participate and lead the charge with other fraternities and sororities across the country in a spirited competition to register the highest number of new voters. Partnering with VotoLatino will allow us to use their existing tools and resources in order to maximize our efforts through social media and online tools to expand our reach.

Lambda Theta Phi will provide on-going information, articles, facts and other information through social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. #LAMBDAS4REFORM

We, the brothers of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc., call for a bipartisan solution for immigration reform. We are committed to advocate, educate, empower and unite our community toward the cause for a common sense immigration process. As a result, we are answering the call to action by launchingLambdas for Immigration Reform.
Founded on December 1, 1975 at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. is the first nationally recognized Greek-letter organization founded as a Latin fraternity. The membership of Lambda Theta Phi is open to all college men who support its values of scholarship, respect for all cultures, community service, and the advancement and fair treatment of Latinos in the United States. Lambda Theta Phi was the first Latin Fraternity to be recognized by the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), a member of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO), and has over 140 Chapters and Colonies across the United States.
